About Myself A Better Inspection is owned and operated Dan Thoman. I am a New York State native and have resided in the Ithaca area since 1988. Originally from Westchester County in Southeastern New York, I developed an affection for the area while attending college at SUNY Binghamton. After college I relocated to the Ithaca area to work for Evaporated Metal Films Inc. For 16 years I have performed duties as an electro-mechanical engineer and manager for EMF. I am still employed part time at EMF today.
How I came to be a Home Inspector I have purchased several home inspections myself while living in the area. While the inspectors I hired were very competent and knowledgeable in their field, I thought that as a home buyer I deserved a little more and that with the proper training, I could offer more to home buyers, a better product, a better inspection.
ABI is Up and Running After several years of set-up and training, ABI was finally launched in January, 2005. To date, I have inspected over 400 homes in Central New York. My strong points are thoroughness, attention to detail and unparalleled reporting. |
